Where were you when you first saw the Hoff and Pamela Anderson? Those Baywatch bods shaped many a childhood throughout the 80s and now they’re back with Baywatch slot, my new favourite game from Playtech. When I first heard about the release of the game I was really excited because I loved the old TV series and I wasn’t disappointed in the slightest.
My favourite character was definitely CJ Parker, who was played by Pamela Anderson, so I had to laugh when I realised she’s the wild symbol. Wild indeed! Stacked wilds are always a good idea because they can net you so much extra cash and fortunately Baywatch slot has stacked wilds on reels 2,3 and 4 – you wouldn’t believe how much money I made from a single spin!
I also appreciate a good free spins round and Baywatch slot has a free spins feature with a difference. During the free spins round, in addition to the 12 free spins, you can activate one of three lifeguard features: Caroline Holden gives you a triple multiplier, Matt Brody gives you an extra frozen wild and Neely Capshaw increases the multiplier. It’s really clever how they’ve used your favourite characters within the game!
The Rescue Feature is also fantastic. When the symbol appears anywhere on reel 5, you can choose one of two bonuses: the CJ Parker respin feature (an extra spin with some extra wilds) or my personal favourite, the Lifeguard Mini Bonus. Match three lifeguards out of the fifteen available and you win the prize shown.
Sometimes playing a simple slot with just 20 paylines is preferable to playing something with 243 ways to win. I find it a lot easier to control my bank balance when I know what I’m betting per spin and there’s no need to complicate things. You can bet up to £500 per line (not that I did!) so if you feel the need to seek extra thrills you can always up your bets.
The beachy theme is just as good as a holiday and I loved the trip down memory lane. Within a few spins I was back in my lounge room watching the antics of the lifeguards as they strode down the beach and through life with their Californian smiles. Ahh, I miss that show! But the slot is a darn good substitute.
